Introducing the Leaderboard and share links
Solar owners love comparing notes - who generated the most this month, whose panels are punching above their weight, and whether that battery is actually earning its keep. Until now, Check My Solar was great for tracking your system, but there was no easy way to see how you stacked up against everyone else.
Today we are introducing two connected features: the Leaderboard, and share links at share.checkmy.solar.
The Leaderboard
Open Leaderboard from the sidebar to browse public rankings from the Check My Solar community.
You can switch between month and year views, filter by country, and sort by the metrics that matter to you:
- Production - total generation and efficiency (kWh per kWp)
- Grid & load - house load, import, export, and net grid
- Battery - charged and discharged energy, state of health, round-trip efficiency, and cycles
Your own rank appears at the top when you have joined, with both a global position and a country position. A community summary shows how much energy the leaderboard has generated collectively.
Joining is optional
Nothing is shared until you opt in. Open Leaderboard Settings (from the leaderboard page or your account menu) and set up a profile:
- Pick a username (3–24 characters - letters, numbers, spaces,
_, or-) - Choose your country
- Enter your panel size in kWp (used for efficiency rankings)
We suggest a panel size based on your system data, but you can adjust it. Stats stay tied to the inverter you joined with - leave and rejoin if you need to switch sites.
You can leave the leaderboard at any time from the same settings screen. Opting out removes your public profile and share link.
Share links
Once you have joined, you get a personal link on share.checkmy.solar - an opaque URL that anyone can open without a Check My Solar account. It shows the same public stats as your leaderboard profile: username, country, rankings, and your month or year totals across production, grid, and battery.
Copy the link from the leaderboard page or settings, or open it to preview. Share it in group chats, on social media, or with friends who want to see how your system is performing.
Here is an example - Jack’s solar stats:
share.checkmy.solar/v0vc5af8bbbj
The share page supports the same month/year navigation as the in-app leaderboard, so visitors can browse different periods.
What is - and is not - public
We designed this to be useful without exposing anything identifying. When you join, these are shared:
- Username and country
- Month and year totals for generation, efficiency, grid, load, and battery metrics
- Your leaderboard rank
These are never shared:
- Email or account details
- Home address or location
- Inverter serial number or site name
- Live realtime power readings
Your share link uses a random slug - not your username - so the URL itself does not reveal who you are.
Try it
- Sign in to Check My Solar with a linked Fox ESS inverter
- Open Leaderboard from the sidebar
- Tap Leaderboard Settings to join and get your share link
Questions or feedback? Join Discord - we would love to see your stats.
