Summer 2026 updates
Summer has been a busy season for Check My Solar. We’ve added new ways to compare your system with the community, get alerted when the grid goes down, tune forecasts to your roof, and dig into history and finances with less friction - plus a long list of fixes behind the scenes.
Here is everything new since early 2026.
Community leaderboard
Compare your solar stats with other Fox ESS owners. Opt in from Leaderboard in the sidebar to share generation, battery, and efficiency metrics, browse global and country rankings by month or year, and copy a public share link for friends.
We wrote a dedicated post on the leaderboard and share links with full details on privacy, joining, and what gets shared.
Grid outage alerts
When your inverter detects a grid power loss or restoration, Check My Solar can send you a push notification. Emergency Power Supply (EPS) status also appears in the energy flow diagram and device view, so you can see at a glance whether your system is running on backup power.
Enable alerts from Notification Settings in the sidebar.
Open-Meteo solar forecasts
Forecasts can now use regional weather models - UKMO, ICON, GFS, and others - matched to your rooftop location. In forecast settings you can tune DC efficiency and max inverter AC power to better match your real-world output.
This sits alongside existing forecast providers; pick what works best for your site.
Dashboard customisation
A single Customise Experience panel lets you set:
- Preferred power units
- Motion and animation preferences
- Default history range and view
- Forecast chart style
- Your timezone
- Default inverter for multi-site accounts
Less hunting through menus to get the dashboard feeling like yours.
Customisable mobile tab bar
On mobile and in the iOS app, pin your most-used sections to the bottom tab bar and reach everything else from the sidebar.
History breakdown redesign
Month and year views got a full refresh:
- A scannable timeline with weekly or quarterly grouping
- Best / low insight chips for quick highlights
- A calendar heatmap for spotting strong and weak days
- Chart and graph modes
- Filters for Solar, Battery, Load, and Grid
- Month-over-month comparison badges on key metrics
Work mode and scheduler
The energy flow section now shows your inverter’s current work mode. Tap through to a detailed scheduler view with every configured time segment, power limits, and state-of-charge targets - useful when you want to confirm what the inverter is set to do without opening Fox Cloud.
Financial insights redesign
Finances now lead with plain language: your net result for the period, what you would have spent without solar, and separate peak / off-peak breakdowns when your rates support them. Switching dates shows a loading skeleton instead of stale numbers.
Notification style preference
Choose how daily and weekly report notifications read:
- Detailed - contextual summaries with the metrics that matter
- Compact - shorter raw-data style for a quicker scan
Set your preference in Notification Settings.
Charts, accuracy, and reliability
Under the hood we tightened a lot of behaviour you might have noticed:
- Charts - large values display in MWh; grid import/export cost and credit calculations are more accurate; today’s chart excludes incomplete future hours; the energy filter includes Load and Grid
- Self-sufficiency - daily reports no longer show 0% when hourly energy-flow data was incomplete; battery discharge is attributed correctly between house load and grid export
- Peak / off-peak - kWh values now align with Fox monthly report totals, fixing discrepancies from hourly bucket rounding
