# Creating an account

You can create a Check My Solar account in two ways: **with your email** (passwordless) or **with Google or Apple** (OAuth).

## Sign up with email

1. Open [checkmy.solar](https://checkmy.solar) and choose **Sign in with email** (or equivalent).
2. Enter your **email address** and submit.
3. Check your inbox for a **magic link** (or, on some setups, a short **verification code**).
4. Click the link or enter the code in the app. You’re signed in and your account is created.

No password is stored; each login uses a new link or code. Links typically expire after a short time (e.g. 15 minutes).

## Sign up with Google or Apple

1. On the login screen, choose **Sign in with Google** or **Sign in with Apple**.
2. Complete the sign-in flow in the browser or popup.
3. The app will create or use an existing account linked to that provider.

You can later link the same Check My Solar account to both email and a social provider, and to one or more Fox Cloud accounts or API keys.

## After you’re signed in

- You’ll land on the dashboard. Data will appear only after you [link your inverter](/docs/getting-started/linking-your-inverter/).
- You can add **multiple Fox Cloud accounts or API keys** and switch between inverters in the app.

## Next step

[Linking your inverter](/docs/getting-started/linking-your-inverter/) - Connect Fox Cloud so the app can show your solar data.
