# Fox ESS, Fox Cloud, and third-party apps

Fox ESS systems typically send data to **Fox Cloud**. Third-party viewers like **[Check My Solar](https://checkmy.solar)** use that cloud data (via OAuth or an API key you provide).

You still manage inverter connectivity and the Fox account in Fox’s own tools. To connect here: [Linking your inverter](/docs/getting-started/linking-your-inverter/) · [Get your Fox ESS API key](/docs/getting-started/get-api-fox-ess-cloud-key/).
