Fox ESS owners use Check My Solar’s Account (and Notifications) screens to manage linked Fox Cloud accounts, energy import and export rates, solar forecasts, notification schedules, timezone, and multiple inverters from one place. Open the menu (top right) → Account to get started.
What you can do in Account
- Fox Cloud accounts - See linked accounts (OAuth or API key), add another link, or disconnect one. Re-authenticating when a session expires is done from the main Link Fox Cloud screen when the app sends you there.
- Email - View the email address for your Check My Solar account (used for magic-link login and email reports).
- Timezone - Set your timezone so report times and dates are correct. Used for notifications and any time-based settings.
- Energy rates - Open the Energy rates configuration (import/export, optional peak/off-peak) for the selected device.
- Solar forecast - Open the Forecast setup for the selected device.
- Work mode - View or configure work-mode-related options for the inverter (if available).
- Notifications - Shortcut to Notifications for push and email reports and alerts.
- Device management - See and manage devices (inverters) and, where applicable, notification or API limits.
- Advanced - May include options such as meter 2, API usage, or other device-specific settings. If enabled for your account, Modbus Bridge lets you set up a local Docker bridge for faster live data on H1 G2 inverters - see Modbus Bridge.
- Privacy & data - Link to privacy policy and data handling.
- Delete account - Option to request account deletion (usually in a separate section with confirmation).
Switching devices (inverters)
If you have multiple inverters (or Fox Cloud accounts) linked:
- In the menu, the current device is shown at the top (e.g. device list or dropdown).
- Select another device to switch the dashboard and all device-specific settings (rates, forecast, notifications) to that inverter.
- Device-specific settings are stored per device; changing device loads that device’s settings.
Energy rates
- Energy Rates in Account opens the rate configuration for the current device.
- You can set import (grid → house) and export (house → grid) rates, and optionally peak/off-peak periods and rates.
- These rates are used for financial insights on the dashboard (cost, credit, savings). Configure once per device; the app remembers your values.
Forecast and notifications
- Forecast setup is per device: add or edit roof details and forecast provider settings for the selected inverter.
- Notifications (daily/weekly/monthly reports, tomorrow’s forecast, operation mode, battery alerts) are also per device. Open Notifications from the menu to set times and enable/disable each type.
Timezone
- Setting your timezone in Account ensures:
- Report delivery times (e.g. “8 PM”) are in your local time.
- Dates and “today” vs “tomorrow” are correct for forecasts and reports.
Next steps
- Energy rates & financials - How rates affect cost and savings.
- Notifications - All notification types in detail.
- Forecast - Setting up solar generation forecasts.
- PWA & iOS app - Install and use on web and iOS.
