Time views (Today, Week, Month)

How Fox ESS owners switch between Today, Yesterday, Week, Month, Year, and custom date ranges in Check My Solar.

Updated View as Markdown

Fox ESS owners using Check My Solar can review solar, battery, and grid data across Today, Yesterday, Week, Month, Year, or a custom date - whether you want today’s live production or to compare how last month stacked up. Choose the range with the tabs or selector at the top; charts and totals update for that period.

Available views

View Description
Today From midnight today up to the current time. Live data for the current day.
Yesterday Full previous calendar day.
Week The week that contains the selected date. You can move to previous/next week.
Month The selected calendar month. You can change month (e.g. previous/next month).
Year The selected year. You can change year.
Select Date A single day of your choice, or a custom date range. Use the date picker to choose the day or start/end dates.

The exact labels may vary slightly (e.g. “Select Date” for custom); the behaviour is the same.

Changing the date or period

  • Today / Yesterday - No date picker; the app uses today or yesterday.
  • Week - Use the arrows or controls next to the week label to move to the previous or next week. Some UIs show the week’s start/end date.
  • Month - Use previous/next month or a month/year picker.
  • Year - Use previous/next year or a year picker.
  • Select Date - Open the date picker and choose a day, or (if supported) a start and end date for a custom range.

After you change the date or period, the dashboard reloads data for that range. Financial insights (when energy rates are set) are shown for the same period where the app supports it.

What updates per view

  • Charts - Show generation, consumption, grid flow, and optionally battery over the selected period. Granularity depends on the range (e.g. hourly for day/week, daily or monthly for month/year).
  • Totals - Generation, consumption, import, export, self-consumption, etc. for that period.
  • Financials - If you’ve set import/export rates, cost and credit are calculated for the selected period (where supported).
  • Today live refresh - On Today, Fox Cloud data updates on a multi-minute cadence. If you use the optional Fox ESS Modbus Bridge, live power and battery numbers can refresh about every 10 seconds from your home network.

On web, the current view and date can be reflected in the URL (e.g. /today, /week, /month/2025/03). Opening such a link can take you straight to that view and date. The iOS app may support the same routes via deep links.
